NEW ERCAN AIRPORT WILL TAKE DIRECT FLIGHTS FROM EUROPE
The tourism minister of TRNC, Unal Ustel, said that when the construction of a new terminal at Ercan Airport is completed, campaigns will be launched to start direct flights to Northern Cyprus in Europe and the UK.
While giving a speech on TV, he said:
“I want the construction of a new airport to be completed as soon as possible in order to be able to raise questions in international courts about direct flights from Europe to Northern Cyprus.”
The TRNC Tourism Minister also criticized the owner of the Tasyapi group, Emrullah Turanli, whose company is currently building a new airport, for delaying work, for mistakes and for financial losses that Northern Cyprus suffered through his fault.
New Ercan will operate at the same level as other modern international airports, ensuring passengers’ safety, flight safety and high-quality service.
The new airport will be six times larger than the current one, it will have a total of 30 parking lots for aircraft, 60 check-in desks, 44 passport control points, 26 x-ray machines.
