Talat Kursat

Our founder Mr. Kursat was born in Paphos/Cyprus in 1947 and following his secondary education he studied law in England and was qualified from MIDDLE TEMPLE Inns of Court as a Barrister at Law in the year 1973. In 1980 he took and passed the exams of the British Law Society and earned the right to practice as a Solicitor as well.

Mr. Kursat completed his pupilage in a legal Chamber in Nicosia and in early 1974 was admitted to both Bar's of Cyprus and TRNC. He has been practicing the legal profession since then.

Mr.Kursat is the Chartered President of the Nicosia Surici Lions Club and also one of the the founders of The Mediation Association of Nicosia. He is at present the President of this Association.

In the years 2006-2007 Mr. Kursat headed a Committee, which undertook to prepare a draft Bill on Mediation. The Draft was prepared and submitted to the High Court for approval which when it is approval Mediation will be integrated into our legal system.

Since the submission of a peace plan by Koffi Annan, the Secretary General to the United Nations to the leaders of the Turkish and Greek sides of Cyprus, Turkish Parliamentarians as well as almost all TV and radio channels in North Cyprus have been inviting our senior partner Mr.Kursat to advice the public on the legal aspects of the Plan.

Mr.Kursat is married with two children one of whom (Akan Kursat) is the partner of our legal firm.

Akan Kursat 

Akan Kursat was born in Nicosia on June the 15th, 1974. After completing his Secondary education at the Bayraktar Turk Maarif College he went to England where he was admitted to study law at Buckingham University. He was graduated from this University in the year 2000 with LL.B. Honours title. His Diploma was presented to him by Margaret Thatcher. He has done his Pupilage with Talat Kursat & Co legal Chambers, after which he became a partner to the Firm.

Akan Kursat is married to a colleague of his and has a newly born baby.

Zehra Yalkut Bilgec 

Zehra Yalkut Bilgec was born in Nicosia (1982).

She graduated in law from Dogu Akdeniz University in 2003. She has done her pupilage with Talat Kursat & Co in 2004.

Zehra was admitted to the Bar of the TRNC in 2004.

Nazli Akmanlar

Nazli Akmanlar was born in Istanbul (1984). Sha graduated in law from The American University of Girne (2005). She did her Master Degree in International Law (LLM) at the university mentioned above. Sha has done her pupilage at Munir Akil law office. In 2007 Nazil Akmanlar was admitted to the Bar of the TRNC. Now she practices in Talat Kursat & Co legal office in Girne.

Goksu Durmus

Göksu Durmuş was born in Adana (1987). She graduated in law from Near East University, Nicosia (2009). She has done her pupilage with the lawyer Fazilet Özdenefe Kürşat (2009). She was admitted to the Bar of the TRNC in 2010 and since then is practicing in the Talat Kürşat & Co legal office in Girne.

Damla Demir

Damla was born in Kyrenia (1977). She graduated in common law from the American University of Girne (2009). She started her pupilage at Mustafa Guryel Law Firm in civil cases then completed her pupilage at Attorney General Office (2010) on criminal cases. Her speech and writing fluent in English. She was admitted to the Bar of the TRNC in 2010 and presently practicing in the Talat Kursat & Co Legal Office in Nicosia.

Devran Uzun

Devran Uzun was born in Turkey (1984).

She graduated in law from Near East University (2007). She did LLM in Corporate Law and Strategy with Merit in Sheffield Hallam University (2009).

She has done her pupilage with Talat Kursat & Co and since then she is practicing in the Talat Kursat & Co legal office in Nicosia.

She was admitted to the Bar of the TRNC in 2011.
